Arranging the numbers 1 - 216 within the T-hexagon

The magic T-hexagon of side 6 uses the numbers 1 - 216. When making the arrangement, we used the results of smaller configurations, and these are expressed in the colouring of the diagram below. We also made up the inner hexagon (of side 3) with the numbers 1 - 54, thus making this configuration one of those whose inner hexagon total is as small as possible.

The result was:

You can download a spreadsheet that shows that this configuration really does use the numbers 1 - 216 once once one only, and that the rows do add to 1953 ... in every direction.

Thus the numbers 1 to 6³ can be formed into a magic configuration within a 6-sided figure of side length 6 – now that IS magic!
