Natural Maths Strategies
The Natural Maths Strategies series
is based on the application of three-part
lessons in the maths classroom. Starting with mental routines that
engage students and arouse their enthusiasm for a topic, the main body
of the lesson is taken up with a problematised situation which is
open-ended and real-life. The lesson concludes with a 10 minute
reflection to allow the teacher to focus on successful strategies used
and to formalise them. Examples of these processes are given below.
